المقدمة

Life in all living organism continue by reproduction. In the human being life begins by fertilization which occurs in the female. The embryo then grows and develops in the uterus. This is called intrauterine life. At birth extra uterine life begins. The newborn infant progressively grow into a child, an adolescent and then an adult. During all this process of growth and development certain anatomical, physiological and psychological changes take place. Many factors, inherited and acquired, within the body and outside can favourably or adversely affect these changes. It is hoped that the student by understanding this process of growth and development and the factors that can affect it will be able to understand and see the health care need at the different stages of growth and development.
